Connect Claude to your bank accounts with Truenote
Add Truenote as a custom connector in claude.ai, approve what Claude may see, and ask about your money in the Claude apps.
- 1
Open Connectors in Claude
In claude.ai go to Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- 2
Paste the Truenote URL
Name it Truenote and paste https://app.usetruenote.com/mcp. Leave the OAuth fields empty: Claude discovers everything from the URL.
- 3
Approve on Truenote's consent screen
Connect opens Truenote. Sign in, choose what Claude may see (you can hide accounts or a business), and allow it. New connections start read-only.

Ask
Back in Claude, turn the connector on in a chat and ask: "How is this month going against the plan?" It works in the Claude desktop and mobile apps too.
What Claude gets
Claude calls Truenote’s tools: the overview, the spending plan and how the month compares, buckets, goals, recurring bills, holdings and what’s owed, the yearly tax projection, and transactions filtered any way it likes. Answers are compact and pre-added, so Claude doesn’t spend its context on raw rows unless it asks for them.
When Claude wants to write
The first time Claude tries to save something (a plan line, a note, a rule, a bucket move), Truenote asks you to allow writing for that connection. Writes only touch Truenote’s own records: nothing moves at your bank. Rows an agent wrote say so.
Where the receipts are
Every call Claude makes is in Connected agents → Activity in Truenote: the tool, a summary of the arguments, the row count. Revoke there cuts the connector off on its next call.
Things to ask
- “Which bills hit before next payday, and what’s left after them?”
- “How much is in the vacation bucket, and are we on pace for June?”
- “Will we owe for the year? How much more should come out of each paycheck?”
- “Remember that we want to refinance below 5%, tagged mortgage.” (asks to write)
