Questions
- What happens after the 14 days?
- The card you entered is charged the plan you picked ($12 for a month or $100 for a year) unless you cancelled. A reminder goes out three days before.
- How do I cancel?
- One click in Settings → Billing, which opens the billing portal. Cancelling stops the next charge; you keep access until the period you paid for ends.
- What happens to my data if I stop paying?
- Syncing stops. After a grace period your banks are removed at Plaid, your data is kept for 30 days (export still works), then deleted.
- Is there a cheaper plan without the self-employed features?
- No. There is one plan, and the tax projection, business entities and splits are part of it. A household with two W-2s simply doesn't fill those parts in.
- Does the API cost extra?
- No. Building on your own data is included; it is never a higher tier.
- Which AI do I need?
- Any you already use. Truenote has no built-in AI and no AI charges; Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and your own scripts connect to it.
